Vetting Support Officer - Part Time

We are looking for a Vetting Support Officer to join our fast-paced Security team at the Senedd.
You will be organised and have the ability to communicate effectively whilst maintaining privacy and dignity for those you assess. You will work within a critical business area that supports the management of security-vetted personnel to work within the Welsh Parliament estate.
The vetting department is an integral part of the Senedd. You will be the first point of contact for any vetting enquires from Senedd Members, Senedd Members’ Support Staff, Commission staff and other persons who work on the Senedd estates. The estate includes the Senedd, Ty Hywel, the Pierhead and satellite offices in other areas of Wales.
As a Vetting Officer you will be responsible for assisting vetting of all those who work at the Senedd estate and Members Constituency, ensuring any personnel risks are identified and managed effectively.
In addition, you will be required to support the Personnel Security Manager in the successful implementation of the Vetting Strategy.

Pattern of Working:
Part-time working either a 5-day week of 22.5 hours between 10:00 to 14:30, or a 3-day week of 22.5 hours between 08:00 to 16:00. Alternative arrangements will also be considered. You will not normally be required to work weekends or Public and Privilege Holiday days.
Please note recruitment will normally be at the minimum of the band.
The successful candidate will be subject to security vetting.
Senedd Research
Senior Research Officer; Health

We are recruiting a Senior Research Officer to lead on health policy within the Health and Social Policy Team in Senedd Research.
Senedd Research provides independent, impartial, specialist parliamentary research to all Members of the Senedd to ensure they are able to support their constituents and participate in Senedd business. It is a fast-paced environment which provides opportunities to work on subject areas with a high political and policy profile.
You will be working directly with Members of the Senedd, their staff, and with Senedd committees at an exciting time of significant focus on health policy. You will be involved in all aspects of research support, including preparing briefing for individual Members and party groups, supporting Senedd committees and preparing digital content, for example in the form of research articles and research briefings for Members and the public.
You will need significant, relevant health policy knowledge, as well as the ability to provide advice and briefings on the Welsh NHS and health policy and legislation. Whilst the post is located within the Health and Social Policy team, Senedd Research works as ‘one team’ and you will be expected to be flexible, work across and outside the team and work proactively with research colleagues across a range of policy subjects.
The role provides opportunities for external engagement and collaborative working with other legislatures, institutions and stakeholders both in the UK and internationally.

Translation and Reporting Services (TRS)
Administrative Officer

We’re looking for an Administrative Officer to work in our Translation and Reporting Service.
You will be joining a busy team of three, who ensure the smooth operation of a bilingual Senedd, through the effective, efficient, and economical coordination of internal and external Translation, reporting, and Official Language Resources.
As well as supporting your colleagues with day to day tasks, you will be dealing with emails, responding to Translation Requests and liaising with Members, their Support staff, and the Senedd Commission.
You should have excellent customer service skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Your time management, and organisational work ethic will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards the department uphold, at the heart of Welsh democracy.

Location: Agile
As COVID-19 restrictions are eases, our ways of working include working on the Senedd estate, working from home, or a combination of working on the estate and remotely, subject to business needs. It is anticipated that this role may be based mainly at home with the occasional day a week in Cardiff Bay. You will receive the necessary support and equipment to enable you to work flexibly.
